NEW ROYAL MACHINE & TOOL UNIVERSAL MODULAR FIXTURE REDUCES FIXTURE COSTS AND CHANGEOVER TIME BY ELIMINATING CUSTOM WORK NESTS AND TOP JAWS.
Berlin, CT – With the introducing of their new Universal Modular Fixture Royal Machine & Tool has combined the design concepts of two of their most popular fixtures currently used in the Valve Industry…Modular Chain and “C” Frame Fixtures. The newly developed modular fixture will provide greater flexibility by covering a large range of Valve Bodies with a single fixture.
In making the announcement, Guy Byrne, Senior Vice President & General Manager, stated, “Our new Universal Modular Fixture combines the best of both models by using the adjustable Vee Rails of the Modular Chain Fixture and a Top Clamp similar to the “C” Frame design.”
“The adjustable Vee Jaws allow users to grip and locate on various size diameters, eliminating custom work nests for each part. The adjustable Top Plate provides a single Universal Top Clamp with the ability to adjust the grip centerline for each valve.”
“This new Universal Modular Fixture design offers our customers another option for their fixturing. The eliminating of Work Nests and Top Jaws which allows more flexibility. Thus, the reducing of fixture costs and changeover time.”
The standard Royal “C” Frame Fixture is a design that cradles the part in a Work Nest which is specifically fitted to a particular part on the upper and lower portion of the fixture. Implementing the Modular Fixture as the Lower Work Nest provides ample adjustments to be made in order to grip many different sized parts without having to purchase custom fitted work nests which have to be unbolted each time…and then replaced with the correct Work Nest for an individual part number.
